National Mental Health Awareness Month: May 2025
Since 1949, Mental Health Awareness Month has been a time to highlight the challenges faced by millions of Americans living with mental health conditions. Each May, organizations like the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Mental Health America (MHA), and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) work to break the stigma, offer support, educate the public, and advocate for policies that put mental well-being first.
About Mental Health America (MHA)
Mental Health America (MHA) is a leading nonprofit dedicated to addressing the needs of those living with mental illness and promoting mental health as a critical part of overall wellness. MHA provides resources, screening tools, educational programs, and advocacy efforts to improve mental health care access and support communities nationwide.
2025 Theme: "Turn Awareness into Action"
This year’s theme, “Turn Awareness into Action,” celebrates the strides we’ve made in recognizing the importance of mental health and challenges us to take meaningful steps toward change.
From advocacy and education to community engagement and personal growth, “Turn Awareness into Action” is about making a real impact and ensuring mental health is a priority for all.
